Hark! The Demon can be defeated! You must have faith that Archangel Perpetiel will guide you as they have guided me! Fall not for the fell tricks of the cold blooded. Fall not for the violence of the rabid wolves to the East. We must stay resolute, for their light only shines for those who earn it.

Rocks in a row

Drawing inspiration from both Fever Swamp and The Waking of Willowby Hall, this A5 zine depicts 21 hexes and 4 dungeons across its 36 pages.

Stratheim Valley is a gothic horror hexcrawl set in a cursed valley. Travellers will traverse an eerie wilderness and are set to encounter unique horrors and deprived mortals clinging to their humanity.  A typical session in The Valley will feature player-led exploration of strange landmarks, curious magic items and motivated NPCs.

Of special interest - this Valley is home to a manor filled with vampiric aristocrats, a littoral cave masking a crypt of a thousand sailors and many other obscurities to uncover.

 Zine Features

  • Complete bestiary
  • Exploration rules
  • Custom magic items
  • Primer denoting the history of The Valley
  • Hex maps designed by Lucas Gehre

The zine is designed for use with Emiel Boven's DURF, however any OSR-adjacent system will support it.

Solid work, sir. Hex descriptions have juice; are easy to read and evoke images and ideas. I would prefer the dungeons be inline with the rest of the hex descriptions but that is my taste. I enjoyed the “Delius and Castielle” rings. That’s a nice, simple puzzle. Keep it up!

Hey! Thank you for the kind words. The rings were an idea I got from a friend so will make sure to pass on the compliment. Have a good one!
